Friendly staff and good breakfast.
Towels not replaced and heated towel rail not turned on so second day meant wet towels.
Close to Edinburgh airport. Kindness of staff
Too small (though free - I appreciated) water bottle provided for the night.
Clean rooms, friendly owners. One morning we walked into Edinburgh city centre - took roughly 40mins, plenty of public transport links. Bus stop across the road. Grocery stores nearby and sufficient parking :-)
The owners are friendly and helpful, good local knowledge and welcoming. Clean, well appointed room. The b & b is handy for travelling into the city, ( on bus route ) and not that far from the airport. Very good friendly pub close by for other meals ( Ye Olde Inn ) It is also quite close to Cramond, a small village on the banks of the Firth of Forth, well worth a visit. The b&b is on the main road into town which has a plus point, but also negative ( see below )
We thought the time allowed for breakfast could be extended slightly, perhaps to 9.30? for those of us who are not 'morning people'. Even though our room was at the rear of the building, the traffic noise was still evident but not too invasive. It is quite difficult to turn right out of the hotel with the car as there are 4 lanes of traffic to contend with. There are traffic lights further up the road which does afford a small window of time to potentially cross the lanes ( right ). The breakfast was well cooked and tasty but the plate was filled up with the cheapest ingredient ( beans ) so a tad disappointing
It was a pleasant location the staff were more than helpfull a real pleasure
VERY CLEAN, DELICIOUS BREAKFAST, ATTENTION TO DETAILS
A LITTLE FAR AWAY FROM THE HISTORIC CENTER, BUT THERE WAS A BUS STOP RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE B AND B
The owners are fabulous and the breakfast delicious and large.
I had a great experience in this guest house, the staff were very friendly. You got a lovely welcome when you arrived. The Breakfast was brilliant and the room was very clean. The location wouldnt be the best but there was a bus stop close by so it was handy. I will be back.
Our host was very friendly and gave us a take away breakfast when we told him we were leaving early the next morning to catch a plane. I liked having a little refrigerator in the room as well. None of the other b and Bs we stayed at had one.
The shower temperature turned from scalding hot to freezing cold every 30 seconds or so. That didn't make for a very relaxing experience after a long day of traveling around Scotland, but at least the water pressure was good and I finally succeeded in getting clean. Also, when I turned back the covers to get in bed, a big, creepy looking spider jumped out from just under the pillow! That unwelcome visitor and the fact that there was no top sheet between me and the heavy comforter made me a little paranoid about bugs and germs.
We had a very comfortable stay at Acer Lodge clean and warm especially as the weather was so cold when we were there. Breakfast was excellent definitely will use it again when we visit Edinburgh!!!
did not dislike anything about Acer Lodge would highly recommend it to our friends if visiting Edinburgh.
Very friendly and welcoming
We are not used to busy main road traffic noise!
The owners were extremely helpful, especially as we arrived very early and were allowed to access our rooms earlier than expected.
Friendly owners, close to bus stop into town. Free parking.
Short time for breakfast 8- 8.45am , should be longer. They charge 2 pounds to pay by credit card.
The stay was very good the owners remembered that we were up for the concert and were very polite and friendly the breakfast was good with plenty to choose from cereal fruit or a full English I would recommend to others
My bed creaked a lot
Friendly reception, comfortable and spotlessly clean accommodation, excellent breakfast in a pleasant front room insulated from any intrusive noise.
